We find ourselves desperately looking for a Christmas jumper to be worn by our kids one of the latest days of this term at school.

Don’t forget to write the Christmas cards and make sure your children do it too in your long list of tasks to be done promptly. Let’s put some Christmas decorations at home. You should be ready for the visit of Santa who pounds the streets of the town but you never know when he would pop in your neighborhood (again mums will help you out on Whatsapp).
School Christmas Fair is one of the most important funding event of the year so you can’t miss it. Besides is a good opportunity to share a cuppa with both teachers and parents. The children have a good time and eat lots of junk food and sweets. If you’re lucky enough you can win a fabulous prize at the Christmas raffle. If the children are lucky enough they won’t throw away all the rubbish they have previously swallowed up.
To top if off there is the endless volley of meals, dinners and parties with both colleagues and friends to celebrate the festive season. All extraordinary. We’ve been blessed with lovely people around to share a bottle and some laughter with.
In the middle of this jumble one needs to make room for the essential. Baby Jesus is Coming and I’ve managed to receive daily a short meditation through my mobile phone. What a wonderful and easy way to prepare myself for Christmas. I hope to be ready by the end of Advent. Merry Christmas to all of you in case I’m too busy to deliver a new post before we go back home.
No me refiero a la carrera Fun Fun Santa que se celebrará el domingo en el cercano parque de Burghley. Consigue reunir a miles de corredores aficionados incluyendo a los ancianos, los niños, y los discapacitadps. No estás obligado a correr si no eres capaz... lo importante es disfrazarse de Santa y ser parte de la diversión a cambio de una pequeña (o grande) donación a cualquier institución benéfica de tu elección.
Nos encontramos buscando jerseys de navidad a la desesperada para que los niños los lleven alguno de los últimos días de clase.
-. Por faaaaaaaaa alguien tiene un par de jerseys navideños que le sobren para mis niños de 5 y 7 años? Las madres claman en el grupo whatsapp en un último intento por evitar otro gasto adicional inútil. Si consigues el jersey o no no es tan importante como el hecho de las respuestas solidarias de las otras madres...

No te olvides de escribir las tarjetas y asegúrate que tus niños lo hacen también en tu larga lista de cosas por hacer enseguida. Decoremos la casa! Deberías también estar preparada para la visita de Santa que recorre las calles del pueblo pero nunca sabes qué día se pasará por tu barrio (de nuevo las madres te echarán una mano por el whatsapp).
La feria de Navidad del cole es uno de los eventos para conseguir fondos más importantes del año de modo que no te lo puedes perder. Además es una buena oportunidad para compartir un café tanto con los profes como con los padres. Los niños se lo pasan bien y comen un montón de porquerías y chuches. Con suerte te puede tocar un premio fabuloso en la rifa. Con suerte los niños no vomitarán toda la basura que anteriormente han consumido.
Para rematar está la interminable ristra de comidas, cenas y fiestas tanto con compañeros de trabajo como con amigos. Todas excepcionales. Hemos sido agraciados con gente encantadora a nuestro alrededor con la que compartir una botella y algunas risas.
En medio de este desbarajuste una necesita hacer sitio para lo esencial. El Niño Jesús va a venir y me las he apañado para recibir una corta meditación en el móvil a diario. Qué modo más maravillosos y fácil de prepararme para la Navidad. Espero estar lista para el final del Adviento. Feliz Navidad a todos por si estoy demasiado ocupada para subir otra entrada al blog antes de volver a casa.
